France

We begin our journey in Paris.

Following a relatively direct 24 1/2 hour flight (including transit in Dubai) we will decompress and engage holiday mode in Paris.
Not that our itinerary shows it, but Paris is a buffer to get over any flight induced sickness before 2 fun filled days in Euro Disneyland.

This will be the boys first visit to Paris and I have already mapped more than enough to see and do over 7 days let alone our stay of just 4. Our plans for Paris are detailed more in our post.

Disneyland!
What child doesn’t dream of visiting Disneyland at some stage? Our boys are not too obsessed with it (well, not as much as their mother!) but now that they know that they are going they are very excited.
You can hear the boys say ‘we can’t spend our money on that… we are saving for Disneyland’ which makes me happy and sad at the same time.
Being young, the boys know that they will not be able to ride all the attractions at the park due to the height restrictions but we know that they will love it all the same. Staying in the resort is an added luxury and something I have wanted to do since my first visit to Disneyland California in the late 80’s. This Sequoia lodge will be our home for the duration of our stay and I am sure will provide some fantastic memories.

From Disneyland we will travel North-East to Champagne region for a couple of days. Firstly we will stay in Reims for a night whilst we tour the champagne caves of Reims and Epernay. High on the list is a visit to Mercier and Moet et Chandon. We will spend this time with our friends Amalie and Seya with their two children who now live near the French border with Switzerland.

Following on from this, we have two days in the Sedan area whilst we celebrate the 30th birthday of our dear friend Xavier. This day-long celebration has been in the planning for almost a year and may even contain a surprise or two!

After Sedan we begin our journey to the Mediterranean coast. We have 12 days to drive the 1,000km which covers some of the most rugged and scenic regions of France. There are too many towns to mention during this journey, but I have listed out the ones I wish to visit, if even for a coffee stop.
Once we reach Avignon we will be joined with our long time friend Danniel for two weeks. We have rented a Gite half way between Pernes-les-Fontaines and Saint-Didier for 5 nights so we can experience rural France.

Lastly, we will drive along the coast to Toulon where we will board our ferry for an over-night trip to our next destination – Corsica!
